Oregon Trail

Tuesday, March 28th, 2006 at 2:22 am

Family didn’t wind up going on the cruise. Long story, which involves multiple crazy relatives. Ask me about it some time in person. Anyways, my parents, my brother, and I are driving up to Vancouver instead while checking out the greater Pacific Northwest. It’s about a 1000 mile trek each way. Managed to log 750 [...]

Inside Man

It’s good. Just a few thoughts:

The beginning and ending credits are set to a Bollywood song. Granted, it’s fairly catchy. But still, what the hell?
One of the characters in the movie shares the same first name as my brother. Probably the first and only time that will ever happen in a Hollywood movie. It was [...]

You know you’re in California when…

…announcements for employees on the airport loudspeaker are in Spanish. And only in Spanish.
Yeah, I’m back at home in Cupertino, a day later than I would have liked. Not much exciting on the flight over, although flying JetBlue for the first time was pleasant. Especially with the unlimited snacks. Didn’t really do much other than [...]

I love grad classes

Thursday, March 23rd, 2006 at 2:28 am

6.334 had a test yesterday. There was no time limit and the professor interrupted the test after an hour for an ice cream break. Two of the three problems were either out of the textbook or from the review packet. Ridiculous.
Yes, you, intrepid reader, should care…

Another New Title

Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006 at 5:37 am

So Julian and I were having a random conversation about some kind of breakfast cereal (I can’t even remember which one now), and I couldn’t remember some detail about this particular cereal. Apparently this was incomprehensible to Julian since I’m “the cereal king”. And so a new idea for a blog title was born. It [...]

Draper Fellow

Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006 at 5:03 am

Short version: I’m going to be a Draper Fellow. Doing ridiculous things with high-efficiency RF power amplifiers and trying to cram them into as small a package as possible. And maybe figure out why they’re sometimes unstable. Yaay.
More details: My trip into Draper Laboratory was awesome. For those of you unfamiliar with the lab, it’s [...]

Linkage

Monday, March 20th, 2006 at 6:05 pm

I added a bunch of links to fort-awesome people. Let me know if I left you out. If I did, it’s probably because you got lost in the mess, or because I wasn’t sure if you wanted to be linked to. In any case, it’s not because I hate you.
I promise a real [...]

A New Title

Friday, March 17th, 2006 at 4:16 am

I’m really stumped when it comes to titles for this blog. But this new one sounds better than the last one (”baseball, circuits, and stuff”)…
Maybe I’ll write something of substance here some time soon. Kind of drawing blanks as to what might be interesting though. I had all these ideas before I actually started this [...]

An Experiment

Sunday, March 12th, 2006 at 1:49 am

Perhaps I’ve given in to the dark side. Let’s see how long it takes people to find this…
Leave a comment if you feel like. And I really need to come up with a better title…
